With the hot temperatures outside, sometimes you want a cold drink. Cold brewing coffee prevents some of acidic taste that are present with hot water hits coffee grounds and then is cooled. Here is our market tested formula for cold brew concentrate:

You’ll need:

  • 1 gallon of fresh cool water
  • 1 pound of Obvious Coffee Light or Medium Roast
  • 1.5 gallon container (remember, coffee takes up space)
  • Strainer or cheesecloth

  • Grind entire pound of coffee fairly coarsely (think sea salt grinder coarseness)
  • Dump coffee into 1.5 gallon container
  • Add 1 gallon of water
  • Stir briefly to make sure all grounds are wet
  • Leave at room temperature for 16-24 hours
  • Strain concentrate via a strainer or cheesecloth

Congrats! You have now made a great cold brew concentrate. This will keep in the fridge for 2-3 weeks (if it lasts that long). Serve over ice or dilute with a little water to taste.
